So i have been skeptical of this company since they first started and would send anyone with a computer to try and get you to buy from them. What really made me skeptical was they would ask you to join their project, or trial, or whatever they call it and ask you to pay to be a part of it.

I'm sorry but if you want me to represent your product and promote your things in your trial I am already paying you with trying it to give my review on it. People I never met, or those who i hadn't talked to since grade school would come out of the woodwork and message me on social media and i already knew what they wanted, to sell me stuff, and when I said no they would crawl right back into the woodwork and I never heard from them again. Recently I decided what the *** lets see if these wrap things are worth the effort all of these girls put into trying to sell them. So I had a girl I hadn't met before but had become friends on Facebook over the products.

She had tried to sell me some in the past and I always said maybe next time, every time, so she was the one I ordered threw since she was the most consistent. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. She is really nice and we even talk about things in our daily lives every now and then she'll message me and see whats new, or we will talk about how we both have back injuries and such. She messaged me to tell me that there was a sale type thing she was doing where if you get one body wrap you get another free, so I said ok fine I'll get it and my mom and I can use them to start our workouts and healthy eating and such.

I went to order them and when I clicked check out they were not in my cart, I went back to try to do it again and it wouldn't go in my cart so i messaged her and she told me I had to do a loyal customer account for it to work. I told her I only wanted to order the one but she said that its only 3 months and that you can pick whatever you want so I said ok I'll give it a try, maybe mom and I will like the wraps so I ordered them. The next month I got another thing of wraps sent to my house automatically and i hadn't even used the first ones yet so I wrote her again asking if I could change it to something else like the diet pills they are always talking about so she told me how to alter my order and what would work best for me. However when I went to save the changes I noticed a warning sign at the bottom of the page saying: warning this item contains lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

So I wrote her about it and she told me it's totally fine, and they only have the warning up because California is super picky. So I did some research and every single one of these items is marked with an * sign, stating that it contains lead. ( I have added a complete list of all of the items they sell that are marked as containing lead in the list below as well as how much they charge their โ€œ loyal customersโ€ for each.) It doesn't say it in the ingredients but pops up as a warning at the very bottom of the page, farther down then the select and confirm order button, and doesn't pop up if it's just the regular shopping cart. Here is our conversation, when she didn't realize the effect lead has on people and people die from it I told her i was allergic to lead to make a point that its not ok to be taking, you cant even use lead paint, or lead toy cars anymore because they are so bad for you, because well we all are, it's TOXIC!

Her name has been taken out for privacy reasons but I was blown away by how much she didn't know about the products she's been selling AND taking for the past year or so. This is not meant to hurt her or cause any problems on her part but I want to share with you so you are aware. ME: so i went to the next page and it says warning this product contains lead but wont tell me what one ...both of the fat fighters and the thermo thingy contain lead Her: Oh ya that's no big deal. Only here in California do they require it to even say that.

No one else in the world even gets That message. Cali has some law where if any ingredient in anything could have been grown or produced anywhere near lead its required to tell us but there is no actual lead in there or anything. All natural better ingredients than you'll find in almost anything else and super safe. Me:im alergic to lead so i cant have things that are possibly linked to them (this was shortened for the sake of time) Her:Whoa wtf?!?

I've never heard of that holy ***!!!! You're lucky you're in Cali then because nowhere else requires that notice. There's no actual lead in them but dang! Me: cant do the greens powder it pops up as lead too so im doing the chews and the cleans hopefully i dont have a reaction to it lol Her:The Greens blends are the new upgraded version.

Oh really that popped up too? Me: yup they have an * sign next to it and at the bottom it says it contains lead Her: Crazy. I order them every month but I never pay attention to it because tons of things in Cali have that warning label and it's never been a problem for anyone I know of and other states and countries don't even have it. I guess you'd have to be careful though.

Too bad they are super good for you and natural. It's late but tomorrow I'm going to ask someone for any more info on that when it comes to someone with a lead allergy like you. Me: k i just put everything in my cart to see what ones are flagged for lead and there's actually a lot Her: We don't worry about it because the laws are only in Cali and super strict on labeling those warnings when they don't even contain lead just might be produced or grown near somewhere that might contain lead... im going to ask more details about this tomorrow.

I asked before when I was new a year ago but I don't remember the exact specifics of the law and everything just remember it was pretty ridiculous and strict what Calis laws are on that. Me: i'm going to school for law so that's why i was like um what? i researched for you so you know what ones contain lead here's the full list (see list below and the items prices) Her:Definitely some of my favs in That list! It's not a big deal for me at all though and I've been taking this stuff for over a year.

I've already sent a message out to get any more info on this I just know when I inquired before I realized the law is so strict that it requires that label if anything is even at all in a certain area where there is lead you know. Me:Ok ya I always scroll to the bottom of the page to see if anything pops up cuz I read the nutrition info and nothing about lead n then boom at the bottom it said these ones contain lead and I was like well *** lol Her:I guess since you know you have an extreme allergy to it you have to be super careful!! I've never heard anyone before having that allergy actually so good to know it's out there! Yes California sucks with some of its laws, however this isn't the DMV or bring your own bag to the grocery store or pay 10 cents for one, this is lead, and its toxic, there's a reason its a law for them to disclose its in their products, and when you see the stuff its in your going to be sick.

I added two of the lists options details for the Greens, and the shakes so you can see what they tell you is in it but not tell you that it contains lead. Nothing says yay healthy start to the deal like lead poisoning before a nice hard workout. The rest of the list you can check out on their webpage and read up on them if you are interested in the other little things they try to upsell. So on their information on each item when you click on the item details and then click the second details button and read the 3 pages of FAQ and such it will state that they have not been approved approved by the FDA.

It also says you cant be under 18 to buy it, and that if you are pregnant you shouldn't take it, probably because they know its not healthy and ingesting lead in a child, and an unborn child is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen, but if they are over 18 maybe they think they can say you bought it at your own risk and they are not responsible for you not knowing it was hiding in there? Idk here's their exact words. (idk why my fonts randomly changed here, it says its Times New Roman, but clearly is not, sorry) I am using their fat fighter as an example, and there will be a link to the exact product as well. This product is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women or children.

If you have a medical condition, health concern, or are taking prescription medication, consult with your health care professional before using this product. โ€ These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It has the nutrition facts section like on the back of the bottle, then next to it in another section it has (OTHER INGREDIANTS) those include: Dicalcium phosphite, microcystilline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, stearic acid, magnisium stearate, and film coat ( hypromellose, macrogol, and hydroxypropyl cellulose.( these are possibly spelled wrong as you cant copy and paste the info in all of these sections, how convenient.) There is also a section for directions saying take 2 pills 1 hour before you eat the largest meal of the day and allow 1-2 hours between the use of this any any other products, supplements or medication, and drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.

(I have noticed that everything they sell is very concerned with you drinking a lot of water, perhaps they want to flush out the toxins before they can do to much harm for you to get symptoms and ask questions) under that it tells you how it works, and some FAQ some include. Can I take this every day? They say yes but then tell you it is plant based and formulated for daily use, it then tells you to take 1-2 pills 15 min before your largest meal... hold up.

The directions tell you to take it 1 hour or 2 before your largest meal, yet here they tell you 15 min... interesting. Then they say you can also take it after snacks with high fat content. The next FAQ is when is the best time to take it?

They said because the stomach is where this all starts working and that it has to absorb fat and block carbs from the foods already in our system, you take 1-2 tablets 15 minutes to 1 hour after eating your 2 largest meals of the day or after a snack with high fat content.... I hope I'm not the only one who's seeing this. The directions are yet again changed for the dosage and when to take it. So the regular directions say 1-2 hours before a meal, then the can I take it every day question was answered by take 1-2 15 to an hour before you take the largest meal of the day, singular.

Now they are saying take one to two 15 minutes to an hour AFTER eating... The next FAQ is can I take this with other medication or supplements. The answer is no. they say because of its binding properties, it should not be taken at the same time as other supplements or medications.

They tell them to allow 1-2 hours to pass between taking this and using anything else. If its a plant based all natural product then why would you be at risk of anything messing with other medications and such? Next on the list is the good old Can I give this to my children which again, you guessed it is no. they say all of their products are recommended only for adults 18 years and older.

This is the only place I saw this state that every item they sell is for 18 and older, others just say we recommend that only adults use it. Again if its plant based and so good for you why cant kids have it? If you cant give it to your kids you shouldn't be taking it either, that's my opinion. My sister has a 2 year old and when her binki falls out on the floor my sister picks it up and sucks on it before giving it back to her kid just to make sure there's not extra germs, I know this is way different than a binki but im hoping you see my point that we don't give kids things we wouldn't try first so if they say kids cant have them maybe you shouldn't either, again only my opinion.

Last on their little list of repetitive FAQ answers is, Is it safe for me to use if you're pregnant or have an ongoing medical condition? They reply with before using any new product you should always consult with your doctor to see if its safe for you. They tell you that includes cosmetic, topical creams, or treatment or any other item for that matter. So nothing on their page should be used without asking a doctor if its safe first, but we are lazy we don't read the fine print, we watch you tube reviews and pick what works fastest and go for it blindly.

This is only one of their products that they have listed to pick from, and there are some that don't contain lead too, however these are the ones that had a marking by them and the little message on the bottom pop up for. I have heard that the body wraps are not that safe either and they use chemicals that have a longer shelf life instead of the natural alternatives as they seem to mask it all under and they can cause some serious harm too. Here's the link if it will work for your guys : https://static.myitworks.com/productsheets/301/301-productinfo-en.pdf I am not a Doctor, a Scientist, or a Lawyer, or anything more than an average woman who did some research and wanted to share my findings for anyone who is curious, concerned or cautious. The fact that their own employee didn't know she has been taking lead pills is a huge red flag, and that they told her that its not a big deal and its totally harmless is extremely troubling to me as a person and a customer.

Thankfully I only did one of the wraps and it didn't do anything for me so I didn't do more. Basically what it seems to do is make you lose water weight, but they tell you that you need to drink a ton of water during it, well whats the wrap doing if your sitting there drinking a ton of water? I was an athlete and did ROTC in school, for those who don't know what it is its basically a mini military school instead of a PE class. We had uniforms and did competitions, ceremonies etc, and our teachers were retired military vets.

One was a Drill Sargent and the other was a Chief Warrant Officer and one thing that was drilled into us was water weight. Every year Chief as we called him, would take us to the middle of the wilderness and we would do survival with what we had on our backs and what we could make with our hands. We made snow caves, fires, weapons, archery, marksmanship, learned to sail a ship with random supplies in case something broke in an emergency situation, all sorts of stuff but what was drilled into our head was water weight. When you don't take in enough water your body will store some of it for later because its telling your brain that there's limited water available and you need to store it and conserve, this makes you bloat and it is called water weight.

Now if you drink tons of water your brain switches that emergency reserve natural instinct to survive off and says โ€œ ok your good there's plenty of water available so you can let this extra stuff goโ€ and that's how you lose it. If you use the wraps and drink a ton of water naturally your going to think that they had some sort of magic gel on it or something but in reality you just did all the work because you drank water and eliminated the instinct to save for survival, and if you do the wraps and you feel like your lost 5lbs or whatever then go eat a snack or drink a soda or whatever, that water weight starts to build back up. Our bodies are over half water for a reason, you cant drink to much water, well you can actually but you have to seriously try, they recommend half a gallon of water a day or 1.2 liters or something like that, then there's the 8x8 rule. Basically if you cut out soda and start grabbing a glass of water instead o a glass of coke you will see results on their own, plus you will feel a lot better too and there's no harsh side effects or chemicals if you have a filter or wherever you get your water from, I'm hoping you filter if its tap but again its only my opinion and I'm not a doctor or anything.

I do hope this is helpful to someone out there and this company with their half ***, backwards, and easy way out tactics don't hurt or cause injury to anyone in the process. If you are an employee please read up so you can help those you sell to know that just because it says its green and natural and you cant pronounce the words in the nutrition area, doesn't mean its good for you.

We understand you are just trying to make a profit, but do some research before you recommend things to people at the very least, and if not for them, do it for yourself. Its only a matter of time before we will start seeing the TV commercial lawyers saying call them if you have been a victim of lead poisoning or have suffered from their products like they do for the bad knee replacements and all the other bad drugs out there that did more harm than good but didn't notice until it was to late.

Reason of review: unsafe to use.

Preferred solution: inform all employees of all possible health issues and harmful substances in every product you sell, list them on the bottle, send every customer a notice of all chemicals/ harmful substances possible and pay medical if effected by them. cancel my account.

It Works Pros: How nice they are while pushing 10 products on you.

It Works Cons: Wasting my time, Lying to loyal customers, Poor quality, There is not enough room to wright down everything that is wrong.

I have a former friend who is a distributor and uses the stuff herself. She uses every product they make on her and her kids that 10 and under.

In the past two years since she started using the products she has had two miscarriages. She says there is nothing wrong with their products. Her doctor would tell her so. I think she is clearly wrong on this.

She deffinantly should not be giving her 6 and 10 year old the products either, but she will not listen. I think maybe a class action law suit would be the next step for us people that have been scammed by this company. I cancelled my card after they kept trying to take out more money then I was told lost about 500 dollars.

The wraps also burn like crazy and if you read the label it has the stuff in anti-freeze as an ingredient but does not put how much of each ingredient is in the wrap. So how do we know if it's not harmful.

I was just researching this product to see if it was worth it but I see a lot of comments based on fear instead of knowledge. I live in California and let me tell you this.

MOSTLY EVERYTHING HAS A CHANCE OF LEAD. For the girl who wrote the previous comment, I hope you read this.5 years ago during my pregnancy I was in line at a Taco Bell and I noticed this new little plaque on the wall, I had to go up to it to read the small print. โ€œCa warning products may cause cancer or birth defectsโ€. I was so freaked out I stayed away from Fast Food during the rest of my pregnancy.

A few years ago I was using my Target Up&Up shaving cream imitation of Aveeno. One day in the shower I read the small print on the back of the bottle. SAME WARNING. Everyday we are surrounded by buildings, products, food, skincare, etc that have these warnings and guess what?

They tend to be FDA approved.

So if your going to be afraid of something because of the warning, you better wake up and realize youโ€™ve BEEN surrounded by it for YEARS and you didnโ€™t even know it. This one doesnโ€™t sound any different.

So what are uou saying? Itโ€™s ok to eat or eliminate as much as we know and can?

The Prop 65 law that requires companies to put the lead warning on consumable products is unnecessarily strict. To put it into perspective, the FDA has established a maximum "safe" amount of lead that someone can be exposed to per day - 75 micrograms for adults, 6 micrograms for children.

The maximum amount per day that you can have in something without requiring a Prop 65 warning?

0.5 micrograms.

Here's a few examples of commonly eaten foods that are perfectly safe to eat but require a prop 65 warning because of their lead content:

Italian salad dressing โ€” 12.2 mcg

Roasted mixed nuts (no peanuts) โ€” 10.2 mcg

Fresh, baked sweet potato โ€” 7.2 mcg Raw avocado โ€” 4.5 mcg Honey โ€” 4.5 mcg Raw watermelon โ€” 4.5 mcg Raisin bran cereal โ€” 4.1 mcg Cottage cheese (4% milk fat) โ€” 3.4 mcg Raw cucumber โ€” 3.4 mcg Granola cereal โ€” 3.0 mcg Raw red apple โ€” 2.6 mcg You're more likely to run into complications because of the ingredients conflicting with a preexisting medical condition than you are to suffer any lead-based complications from ItWorks products.

I think, and without prejudice, that the lead in It Works! is only there insofar as it may have ingredients from fruits, vegetables and other things that were grown in California.

Read about California Proposition 65.

I think that's the one where California acknowledges that there may be natural-occurring lead in their ground.

I'm Canadian so I may be wrong.

Lol.

Not likely

Really, jk So all you distributors out there that were ready to flee and get as far away as possible from It Works! you can now calm down.

For the lady who wrote the article ... I'm sorry for the confusion this has caused and I can clearly see why you were apprehensive about our products. If you read through the proposition and come to the same conclusion that I did, then maybe you might reconsider trying the product under doctor's care.
